About us
At Thrive we are specialists in providing education and mental health support for teachers and pupils in schools across Cheshire and the North West region.
We’ll help you thrive, whatever your needs
We provide CPD, PPA, 1:1 and small group interventions and mental health support and training in primary and secondary schools across the North West. We specialise in range of subjects from sports to music and offer a completely flexible approach that can be tailored to you and your school’s needs.
The way the team at Thrive delivered their courses ensures that there is a good balance between class-based learning and outdoor activity. I would recommend Thrive to other schools, particularly if they didn’t have a scheme of work in place through their PSHE that covers Mental Health

We bring experience, empathy & energy
Our founders Matthew Johnson and Andy Aspinall each have more than two decades of experience in teaching and coaching, working with schools, community groups, sports clubs and other organisations across the region. Both are qualified teachers, educated to degree level and are UEFA B qualified football coaches and Level 1 qualified coaches in other sports. They founded Sportscape in 2004 to offer high-quality sports cover to local schools and clubs and also trained as teachers so they could deliver apprenticeships and Post 16 education.
During this time they noticed the ever increasing need for mental health and wellbeing support for teachers and children, and so trained as First Aid for Mental Health Instructors to deliver accredited courses to Adults and a range of wellbeing activities for schools and children.
Putting mental health first
Our core goal and guiding principle is to improve and support the mental health of everyone we encounter, including staff, teachers and pupils. As well as providing support and cover for sport and music, Thrive also provide mental health support for pupils and accredited qualifications for school staff to raise awareness of mental health.
